The “Meebits Turn On” Album Drop

TL;DR:

We launched MB1 with a digital boombox that featured nine original AI-powered songs created by our friends at WarpSound. Today, we’re releasing the complete “Meebits Turn On” album – including 13 new, never-been-heard songs – on major music streaming platforms and WarpSound is offering it as a digital collectible for Meebit holders. 

Meebits are much more than profile picture (PFP) NFTs. As 3D characters, we see them as an extension and representation of ourselves in the metaverse. Music is core to the human experience and therefore core to the Meebit experience. We dance, so Meebits dance. And when we dance it’s not just our physical body that moves, but our emotions, our thoughts, and our soulfulness. We lean into music to give Meebits life and to connect all Meebit holders across the barriers of geography and language. 

WarpSound is an industry-leading generative audiovisual music platform that delivers fully-dynamic original music. They enlisted four virtual artists – Nayomi, DJ Dragoon, Gnar Heart, and GLiTCH – to contribute to the “Meebits Turn On” album, bringing a mix of styles and genres such as trap, hip-hop, lo-fi, electrofunk, electropop, and chillwave.

Both Meebits and WarpSound's WVRPS holders will have until the end of the year to claim a WarpSound MUSIC DROPS digital collectible of the “Meebits Turn On” album for free (plus gas). This ERC-1155 NFT will render as a “playable album” on platforms that support HTML-based NFTs (such as OpenSea) once minted. This NFT is only claimable by wallets that held 1 or more Meebits when the snapshot was taken on December 20, 2022, at 9:16 AM PST. The claim period ends on December 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM PST. 

The security team at Yuga Labs has reviewed the Manifold Creator Contract used by the team at WarpSound for their Music Drops. However, if you prefer not to connect the wallet containing your Meebit(s) to the minting site, we encourage you to set up a “warm wallet” with Warm.xyz. We will take a snapshot of warm wallets that tie back to the Meebits contract on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 9:00 AM PST and airdrop the digital collectible to those wallets by the end of the claim period.

This token utilizes two new web3 innovations: WarpSound's new IPFS-hosted NFT Player Template and WarpSound's Playlist Metadata Standard. These innovations allow both in-browser play directly from the token itself, and web3-native NFT music players/platforms to utilize the Playlist Metadata Standard to play and group the tracks into native playlist(s) automatically.

In addition to being able to stream this album on major music streaming platforms, you are free to use these songs in any creative project.
